Requirements for getting Married in Belize

Your marriage in Belize is legal everywhere in the world. Our ceremonies are performed in English and we take care of having your marriage license legally registered! Once you receive your marriage license, there is no need to register it in your Country.

Note: The wedding couple must be in Belize 3 business days before we are able to apply for their wedding license. If this is not met, then we can Expedite Your License for an additional $150.00 US Government’s Fee.

If neither party has been previously married:

  • Fully completed marriage license application form notarized by a Justice of the Peace
  • Photocopy of passport showing picture and date of arrival in Belize

If either of the parties have been previously married:

  • Fully completed marriage license application form notarized by a Justice of the Peace
  • Photocopy of passport showing picture and date of arrival in Belize
  • Original certified final divorce decree.

If either party is a widow or widower:

  • Fully completed marriage license application form notarized by a Justice of the Peace
  • Photocopy of passport showing picture and date of arrival in Belize
  • Original death certificate
